The Batter Up Foundation looks to enhance youth outcomes by providing opportunities for personal growth and character education through a combination of mentoring and baseball development. Its purpose is to revitalize interest in baseball and to improve the development of local players, especially inner city children, with the goal of increasing college opportunities. Our baseball development programs are conducted through the DC Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (DC RBI) program, and provide players from 3rd grade through college free, extensive opportunities year-round.
Batter Up Foundation/DC RBI conducts in-school programs and summer leagues targeted for children and teenagers in Wards 6, 7 and 8. The organization’s goal is to foster academic excellence among its participants and increase interest in baseball by developing players and the sport among the youth it serves. Batter Up Foundation strives to create opportunities for youth that can teach them invaluable life lessons, both on and off the field through baseball programs, structured mentoring, healthy competition and caring, positive relationships with mentors and coaches.
